Speech title & Synopsis

Reshaping the Future Healthcare with 「Gen」Medicine

Dr. Ray-Jade Chen of Taipei Medical University explores the integration of genomics, data science, and generative AI as key drivers of future healthcare transformation. In response to global challenges such as aging populations and the increasing burden of chronic diseases, precision medicine—enabled by affordable whole-genome sequencing, gene therapies, and AI-driven drug innovation—offers promising solutions. Taiwan’s “Healthy Taiwan” initiative and TMU’s digital transformation strategies demonstrate national and institutional commitments to precision prevention and personalized care. Despite the great opportunities presented by generative AI, challenges related to data privacy, misinformation, and ethical governance must be addressed to ensure responsible integration. The convergence of genomics and AI thus heralds a new paradigm in equitable, efficient, and patient-centered healthcare delivery.
