Dr. Nares Damrongchai was CEO of Genepeutic Bio, a biotech company developing next-generation cell and gene therapies, and make them available to patients with rare diseases at an affordable price.  
For over 25 years, Nares has been a noteworthy leader in the life sciences space, and science and innovation in general. Nares can be credited with his policy leadership roles at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), most notably as Executive Director of the APEC Center for Technology Foresight (2004-2012) and Co-Chair of APEC Life Sciences Innovation Forum between 2014-2020.
Dr. Nares’ long career expands from public to private. He served for two full terms as CEO of the Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS), where he transformed the Thai life sciences ecosystem from the ground up. His public service earned him Royal Thai Government Scholarship Award for Outstanding Alumni in 2017.
He also serves as an International Expert for Asia-Pacific in the creation of the Personalised Health Index, an initiative attempting to benchmark countries across the globe.
Recently Dr. Nares co-founded Accel Group, a consulting company focusing on business strategy, innovation and transformation. Accel Group is active now in assisting the private and public sector to coordinate and grow internationally.
Dr. Nares holds a Doctor of Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology, and a Master of Philosophy from University of Cambridge. His passion remains with science and innovation, and in growing people
