Dr. Ming-Kai Pan received an MD degree from National Taiwan University College of Medicine in 2004. He went to Institute of Physiology, National Taiwan University College of Medicine and received PhD degree in 2014. He is currently serving as a committee member of Tremor Study Group, International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society, and Translational Research Director at Molecular Imaging Center, National Taiwan University.
Ming-Kai is a movement disorder specialist with a focus on cerebellar disorders and tremors. Leading a lab that innovates and employs cutting-edge neural dynamic technologies, his work spans both clinical neurology and basic neuroscience. His expertise includes cerebellar electroencephalography with dynamic spatial mapping, intra-operative cerebellar recordings, and advanced mouse-based methodologies such as optogenetics, fiber photometry, calcium imaging, and electrophysiology.
Ming-Kai is the fresh recipient of 2024 Outstanding Research Award, National Science and Technology Council. His research contributes to bioengineering, particularly in the development of new motion-tracking technologies and volumetric super-speed microscopy, and has been published in prestigious journals including Science Translational Medicine, Journal of Clinical Investigation, Bioengineering & Translational Medicine, Science Advances, PNAS, and Acta Neuropathologica, with impact in both medical and technological advancements.
