Executive Director of Viral Vector Process Technology Development
WuXiAppTec
Man-Shiow Jiang received MS degree in Biochemistry, National Taiwan University Medical College, R.O.C., received PhD degree in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology (BCMB) graduate program in the Johns Hopkins University (JHU), school of medicine in Baltimore, MD and followed by five-year postdoctoral training in the field of transcription regulation of adipose maturation at the dept. of biological Chemistry at JHU. She is currently leading the department of Viral Vector Process Technology Development, Cell and Gene Therapy at WuXiAppTec. Her career focuses on CDMO including government contractors (NCI-SAIC and NIH-VPPL) and private companies (Omnia and Vigene). Over 23 years of experience with bioprocess in cell and therapy including the establishing cell lines, upstream production, downstream purification of plasmid, protein, antibody, cytokines, fusion protein, viral vectors, viruses, and assay development. Her professional interests focus on the optimization/streamline of the US/DS processes for viral vectors and biologics from R&D to commercialization. Her responsibilities are developing viral vector platforms includes highly productive single clonal cell lines, shortening the timeline, robustness and cost-effective processes for R&D, toxicology, clinical and commercial purposes.
