As Dean of the College of Biomedical Engineering at Taipei Medical University (since 2022), Professor Kang promotes cross-disciplinary teaching, clinical service, and research with a team-approach for excellence. He obtained his Medical and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Medicine and Institute of Biomedical Engineering at National Taiwan University (1988-1991 & 2008-2011) and received rehabilitation residency training at the National Taiwan University Hospital. Dr. Kang has been a visiting staff member at Taipei Medical University Hospital since 2003 and is also a Professor at the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Graduate Institute of Nanomedicine and Medical Engineering. His Research Laboratory of Translational Neuroscience focuses on discovering novel biomarkers of fibromyalgia and chronic pain, the mechanisms behind complex pathophysiological changes in these patients, and the use of AI technology in managing rehabilitation patients. Dr. Kang has published over 120 scientific papers in relevant fields.
