Prof. Dr Hidayah Ariffin is a Professor and Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Her research interests include biopolymers, biomass valorization, and utilization of lignocellulosic materials. At present, her research focuses on the production and applications of nanocellulosic materials. To date she has published more than 100 high impact journal articles, 1 edited book, 8 chapters in book and more than 30 conference papers. Prof. Hidayah also invented multiple research products, 8 of them with intellectual property (IP) protection. 2 of her IPs have been commercialized, and the technologies are transferred to the industry. She was the Editorial Board Member of Journal of Renewable Materials and currently the Editorial Board Member of Academy of Science Malaysia (ASM) Science Journal, and Asian Federation of Biotechnology (AFOB) Newsletters. She is also a member of the Research Committee, TAPPI Nano Division and a member of Asian Federation of Biotechnology (AFOB).
