Dr. Steve Hsu-Sung Kuo is currently the Ambassador-at-large of Taiwan. He was the former president of National Yang Ming University. His specialties include infectious disease control and prevention as well as public health policy.
He has rich teaching and administrative experiences. He was an associate professor, associate dean at Faculty of Medicine, director at Department of Social Medicine, Secretary-General and founding Director at Institute of Health Informatics and Decision Making at National Yang-Ming University. He was Director-General at Bureau of Planning and Evaluation in Department of Health (currently known as Ministry of Health and Welfare). He served as Senior Advisor at Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) in Washington, D.C., U.S.A. During the SARS epidemic, he was a coordinator for the Taiwan SARS Task Force. He became Director-General at Taiwan Centers for Disease Control in Department of Health. Later He was Senior Advisor, Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO), Washington, D.C., U.S.A.
Dr. Steve Kuo received his MD degree from National Yang-Ming Medical College, M.P.H. degree from College of Public Health in National Taiwan University and Ph.D. degree from School of Public Health at Yale University. He completed Senior Executive Fellows at John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, U.S.A.
