Dr. Kobi Inbar Has many years of extensive entrepreneurial, managerial, R&D and business experience, working with both startups and investors in the life-sciences, bio-medical and cleantech industries. Dr. Inbar served as the CEO of TK Signal and was the VP Operations for Peptor. Prior to that, he served as the VP R&D at ProCognia (formerly GlycoData) and Head of the Drug Discovery Unit at Collgard Biopharmaceutical. Dr. was the founder and COO at Genaphora Ltd., an advanced water detection company, working in partnership with Mekorot, The Israeli National Water Company. Recently he serves as the V.P. R&D at the Stockton Group, an Israeli-based company operating in the global market of Bio-pesticides for sustainable agriculture. Dr. Inbar is the Administrative Director and Business Advisor for the “Root of The Matter” Knowledge Center for the Advanced Research of The Root Zone. Dr. Inbar was the Academic Director of the Bio-Medical MBA Program, the School Business Administration, The College of Management Academic Studies, Rishon LeZion, Israel. Currently, Dr. Inbar is a lecturer and faculty member at the Department of Economics and Business Management, The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ariel University. He also teaches Biotechnology Entrepreneurship at the Bio-Medical MBA Program, School of Business Administration, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and at the International MBA Programs; Faculty of management, University of Haifa, Israel - Teaching course In Green Entrepreneurship.
Dr. Inbar is the Head of eHealth Ventures Physician-Entrepreneurs Acceleration Program at eHealth Ventures Incubator, a multi-national venture fund focused on early stage digital health startup companies. Established in 2015, eHealth Ventures to create a multinational partnership supported by world leaders such as the Cleveland Clinic, Amgen, Maccabi Healthcare Services, SCI (China) and others. The partnership is running an Incubator under special license agreement with the state of Israel who provides significant financial support.
Dr. Inbar holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Microbiology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, as well as an MBA degree from the EMBA Program of the Arison School of Business, the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya. Session Speech Title & Synopsis: How to Build a Successful Biotech Start-up Company
Selecting a strategic focus of investment or development is critical for the success of any investor or company.
The talk will deal with the above topic of “How to build a successful start-up company in the field of healthcare in general and Digital Health in particular - How to build, what to ask, the business models, who pays, what are the difficulties. I will try to demonstrate and discuss these issues by providing examples from my own experience and some significant case studies. My hope that this talk will provide and conceptual framework and a "toolbox" for entrepreneurs who are struggling with their own initiatives or considering embarking on a new one.
In my speech I will share the process of defining the investment focus of eHealth Ventures in Digital Therapeutics, Diagnostics and Home Care.
I will explain how under these topics we utilize our unique abilities to the maximum by utilizing our partnership competitive advantage.
This reflects to the relative advantages of the ecosystem in Israel which I believe are very similar to those of Taiwan.
