Prof. Jung-Lung Hsu, M.D., Ph.D., is Professor at the Graduate Institute of Mind, Brain & Consciousness, Taipei Medical University, and Chief of the Department of Neurology at New Taipei Municipal TuCheng Hospital. He is an experienced clinician-scientist specializing in dementia, neuroimaging, and neurodegenerative disorders, with over two decades of contributions to translational neurology in Taiwan.
Prof. Hsu received his M.D. and Master’s degrees from Taipei Medical University, followed by Ph.D. training at both National Taiwan University and Utrecht University in the Netherlands. He also completed visiting fellowships at the University of California, San Diego, and other leading research institutes. His research integrates molecular imaging, glymphatic function, and neuroinflammation, with particular focus on early-stage Alzheimer’s disease, tau pathology, and young-onset dementia.
He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications in journals such as Annals of Neurology, Clinical Nuclear Medicine, and Scientific Reports. His current work includes PET imaging of tau and amyloid, blood-based biomarkers, and glymphatic system dysfunction in aging and neurodegeneration.
Prof. Hsu currently serves as President of the Taiwan Dementia Society, where he leads national initiatives to improve dementia diagnosis, promote early detection policies, and strengthen interdisciplinary care models. He is widely recognized for bridging clinical neurology and advanced imaging, and for shaping Taiwan’s public health strategy for cognitive disorders.
