Dr. Jen-Der Lue currently serves as the Political Deputy Minister of Health and Welfare in Taiwan. He earned his Ph.D. in Social Sciences from Bielefeld University in Germany, and holds both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Political Science from National Chengchi University. Dr. Lue has held various academic and governmental positions, including Professor and Chair of the Department of Social Welfare at National Chung Cheng University, Director-General of the Social Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government, and Deputy Minister of the Civil Service Protection and Training Commission. He has also served as Chairman of the Taiwan Association for Social Welfare and as a member of the National Pension Reform Committee.
In his current role, Dr. Lue is leading the development of Taiwan's Long-Term Care 3.0 policy, which focuses on integrating medical care with long-term services, enhancing rehabilitation, and incorporating smart technologies to provide comprehensive, life-cycle care. His extensive experience across academia, government, and civil society underscores his commitment to advancing social welfare and public health policies.
