Jerome Shen, Ph.D., is a well-established figure in the biotech industry, currently serving as the General Partner & Head of Life Science Investments at Taiwania Capital Management Corporation, a leading venture capital firm based in Taiwan. With over 25 years of experience in venture capital, Dr. Shen has a proven track record of success in investing in the life science, biotech, and pharmaceutical industries. Previously, Dr. Shen co-founded and served as President of Allgenesis Biotherapeutics Inc. from 2014 to 2018, where he focused on developing drugs to address unmet medical needs in ophthalmology and CNS. Prior to that, he held executive positions at Cheng Xin Ventures and Xinchen Ventures, gaining extensive experience in evaluating investment opportunities and working with portfolio companies to help them achieve their milestones. Throughout his career, Dr. Shen has collaborated with bioscientific entrepreneurs to help them build corporate value. He has also held executive positions in biotech startups, where he was responsible for corporate development and strategic planning. In addition, Dr. Shen served as the Secretary General of the Taiwan Biotech Association from 2005 to 2008, where he made significant contributions to providing business development, human resources, and training programs for industry members. Dr. Shen earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin. His expertise and experience in biotech entrepreneurship and venture capital make him a key player in the industry, driving innovation and growth in the biotech sector.
