Dr. Stephen Lee is Director of Early Innovation Partnering at Johnson & Johnson Innovation, Asia Pacific. In this role, he is responsible for the deployment of the Asia Pacific Innovation Center strategy in North Asia by identifying opportunities (in pharmaceuticals, consumer health and medical devices) and building networks within the innovation ecosystem. Dr. Lee has also served in the past as an Industry Advisor (Biotech) to the Investment Committee of the HKSTP’s Corporate Venture fund. Prior to joining J&J, he has also founded and led several biotech / medtech startups. Dr. Lee has worked with small to big pharmas on both buy-/sell-side licensing and M&A opportunities, as well as raising capital. He is an experienced facilitator of bringing together investment opportunities and funding; he has been doing business development, market analysis, as well as technology and IP review for various Life Sciences related companies in the US, Europe and Asia. Dr. Lee obtained his DPhil in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
