Speech title & Synopsis

How MNCs support Taiwan for its precision medicine development

Precision medicine has been the global trend and is also one of Taiwanese governments’ Six Core Strategic Industries priorities. Precision medicine has been revolutionizing how we respond to diseases by using an individual’s genomic data and lifestyle and environment-related information to create an effective personalized treatment.

To help realize government’ s “2030 Taiwan Precision Health Vision,” multinational pharmaceutical companies joined National Biobank Consortium of Taiwan, Health Big Data Platform Program, etc. via public-private partnerships. These collaborations and partnerships aim to not only help strategize and prioritize genetic testing results for personalized treatment for maximizing healthcare efficiency but also help real-world evidence analysis and applications in the future.

Multinational pharmaceutical companies can help Taiwan excel in many healthcare areas in the Asia-Pacific in hope of establishing strong partnership with government and making Taiwan’s healthcare ecosystem more sustainable. Only through a common shared vision with the principles of solidarity and collaboration will allow us to achieve the vision of precision medicine for all populations in Taiwan and transform the healthcare system.
