BIO Asia–Taiwan Conference & Exhibition to be held again in 2020
Expanded participation by international biomedical companies will to form the largest biotechnology exhibition in Asia

3 October, 2019, Taipei, Taiwan -- After the successful holding of the inaugural BIO Asia–Taiwan International Conference and Exhibition in Taipei in July 2019 attracted the attention of the global biomedical industry, co-organizers of the event the Taiwan Bio Industry Organization (Taiwan BIO) together with the Global Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) announced today that the event will be held again in 2020, July 22nd to 26th. To be held at the Nangang Exhibition Hall II, the event is already being promoted at various international exhibitions. The conference component of the 2020 event is expected to attract more than 2,000 attendees from 30 countries, while the exhibition is expected to take the top spot as Asia's largest biotech-related exhibition.

Dr. Johnsee Lee, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of BIO Asia–Taiwan, is pleased to announce that the inaugural 2019 event was considered a great success by Global BIO, and on this basis have given the go-ahead for the event to return to Taiwan for a second time. This time around, the exhibition, one-on-one partnering and the conference will be all held at one venue, the Nangang Exhibition Hall II. With its expanded format, Lee expects more than 3,500 partnering meetings in 2020, up from 2,000 in 2019.

The exhibition scope and scale will be expanded in 2020, and will feature special zones for multinational pharmaceutical companies, national pavilions, smart medical care, precision medicine, and cell and regenerative medicine. International participation is also expected to increase through cooperation with international biotechnology associations. The top five international countries in terms of participation in 2019 year were Japan, China, the United States, Singapore and South Korea, and we expect even greater interest and engagement in 2020.

For the conference, session topics will focus on the following: precision medicine, cell therapy, gene therapy, protein drugs, AI (artificial intelligence) applications, smart hospitals, digital healthcare, cross-border cooperation and cross-border investment, biotechnology innovation and investment, and more. We have already begun to plan an exciting line up of expert international speakers, and will announce confirmed speakers as the event date draws nearer.

Dr. Lee pointed out that the biggest benefit cooperating with Global BIO to hold this event has been in high numbers of international participation. Nearly 40 percent of attendees at conference in 2019 were from overseas, as were more than 100 exhibitors at the exhibition. With the help of BIO, international marketing, the formation of an International Advisory Committee and other planning activities have already begun, and we expect the scale of international participation to 2020 to increase over already impressive 2019 figures.

Look out for Early Bird registration for BIO Asia–Taiwan 2020, set to open in December 2019.
